Katie Bates

Katie Bates is currently serving as the Director of Strategy & Growth at YVote. Prior to this, at Chalkbeat as an Independent Consultant, she successfully raised over $85,000 through individual giving and organized a virtual event with a high turnout. As a Program Strategy & Growth Intern, Katie drafted marketing materials, raised funds, and planned virtual events. Previously, at America's Promise Alliance, she managed social media, created content, and led the organization's rebranding efforts as a Communications Assistant. With a background in education and teaching experience, Katie also served as a Lead Election Board Clerk and a High School Social Studies Teacher. Her educational background includes a Master of Arts in Sociology and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Butler University.
