Julia W. Lanham is an accomplished public health professional with extensive experience in academia and community health organizations. Currently serving as Assistant Dean of Career and Practicum and Director of Advising, Relationship Management, and Career Equity at Boston University School of Public Health since February 2014, Julia also teaches a graduate course on adolescent health. Recognized for excellence in teaching with the Spring 2015 Excellence in Teaching Award, Julia's contributions extend to their role as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for YW Boston since November 2019. Prior positions include Research Recruitment Director and Urban Health Researcher at The Fenway Institute, as well as leadership roles at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Julia holds a BA in Political Science from Miami University and an MPH in International Health Policy and Maternal and Child Health from The George Washington University.

YW Boston helps individuals and organizations change policies, practices, attitudes, and behaviors with the goal of creating more inclusive environments where women, people of color, and especially women of color can succeed. We accomplish our work through DEI services, youth development, advocacy, and events, helping organizations shift their demographic structure towards greater diversity and inclusion at all levels. Ultimately, we strive to drive systemic change and measurable improvement in gender and racial equity in Boston.
