Nora Carr

Assistant Director at Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation

Nora Carr, Ed.D., APR, Fellow PRSA, currently serves as the Assistant Director at the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation since August 2021. Prior to this role, Carr was the Chief of Staff for Guilford County Schools from December 2008 to February 2022, overseeing public and legislative affairs, policy development, strategic planning, and communications for one of North Carolina's largest school systems. Experience also includes positions as Chief Communications Officer at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Senior Vice President at Luquire George Andrews, and Director of Marketing and Development for the Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis, among others. Carr is an alumna of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where a Doctorate in Educational Leadership was earned, as well as the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, which conferred a Master’s degree in Communications Studies, and Saint Louis University, where a Bachelor’s degree in English was obtained.
