Jacek Wasilewski

Jacek Wasilewski, PhD, is a highly experienced applied scientist with a strong focus on machine learning and data science. Currently serving as Principal Applied Scientist at Zalando since October 2021, Jacek has previously held senior positions at Sojern and Earnest Research, where contributions included developing an anomaly detection system and an NLP model. Jacek's expertise also encompasses designing recommender systems at Hudson's Bay Company that significantly improved conversion rates and conducting PhD research on recommendation diversification at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics. Jacek's academic background includes a PhD in Computer Science from University College Dublin, complemented by a MSc and BSc in Computer Science from Poznan University of Technology. Additional roles in teaching, software development, and engineering have enabled Jacek to build a comprehensive skill set in the field.
