Malte Appeltauer

Malte Appeltauer is an experienced Engineering Manager currently serving as the Head of Engineering for the Pricing Platform at Zalando SE. With over 10 years in the field, Malte has a strong focus on building effective teams and integrating data science and machine learning research into production environments. Previously, Malte held leadership roles at Zalando, guiding teams in machine learning products, and contributed significantly to SAP as a Senior Developer and Project Lead. Malte earned a PhD in Applied Computer Science from the Hasso Plattner Institute and has a background in programming language design and artificial neural networks from their time as a research assistant at Bonn University.
