Michael Gygli

Michael Gygli is a seasoned expert in the field of Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence, currently serving as Principal Applied Scientist at Zalando and an Advisory Board Member at Vertical Data. As Co-Founder and CTO of Cerrion from March 2021 to October 2023, Michael focused on consulting manufacturing companies on Computer Vision solutions. Prior experience includes a role as Research Scientist at Google, where contributions significantly advanced the lifelong-learning research line, and as Head of AI at gifs.com, deploying critical projects in automatic highlight detection and video object segmentation. Michael's academic background includes a PhD in Computer Vision from ETH Zurich, complemented by internships at Google Brain and Yahoo! Labs.
