Mikhail Kachala

Mikhail Kachala is an accomplished professional in data science and machine learning, currently serving as the Head of Data and ML Engineering at Zalando since October 2025. Prior experience includes positions as AI ML Engineering Manager at Meta, from November 2022 to October 2025, and various roles at Bayer, culminating as Head of Data Science Consumer Health from July 2016 to November 2022. Mikhail's earlier career includes research and analytical roles at EMBL, ChemRar High Tech Center, and contributions to the Marie Curie Alumni Association. Mikhail holds a PhD in Structural Biology from the University of Hamburg, as well as an MS in Physics of Biological Systems and a BSc in Molecular and Biological Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
