Yang Yao

Yang Yao has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. They started as a System Engineer at Interactive Intelligence in 2006, eventually moving up to Senior System Engineer, Technical Team Lead, Regional Support Manager, and finally, Application Developer Manager. In this role, Yang Yao was responsible for building and managing a development team for the APAC services organization. They also focused on aligning corporate offshore strategy with local operations and developing development guidelines and practices.

In 2016, Yang Yao joined Revenue Monster Sdn. Bhd as the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder. In this role, they implemented the first acquiring system on the public/hybrid cloud to be certified by the Malaysian regulators. They also built the ticket aggregator service Wetix, designed an all-in-one merchant solution, and implemented mobile payment, marketing, and social media solutions.

In 2019, Yang Yao moved to TNG Digital Sdn Bhd as the Head of Engineering through a secondment. They designed and implemented the first digital wallet on the public/hybrid cloud to be certified by Malaysian regulators. They also assisted in building local and offshore technology teams.

From 2019 to 2021, Yang Yao worked at "虫虱金服" as a Staff Engineer and held secondments as the Head of Engineering and Head of Tech. They were responsible for providing technology leadership, strategic planning, and efficient implementation for leading mobile e-wallets like TNG E-wallet in Malaysia and EasyPaisa in Pakistan. They also built and managed over 200 technology teams.

Most recently, in 2021, Yang Yao joined YF Life Insurance International Limited as the Vice President of Management Information System. In this role, they focused on the management and implementation of information systems.

In 2022, Yang Yao joined ZaloPay as the Chief Technology Officer.

Yang Yao obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Technology/Computer Systems Technology from Ball State University in 2005. In 2006, Yang Yao received a Master's degree in Information and Communication Sciences from the same university. In addition, Yang Yao has obtained several certifications including CCNA in 2007, CCNA-Voice in 2009, ICCE from Interactive Intelligence in 2006, Alibaba Cloud ACP from Pearson VUE in 2018, and edX Verified Certificate for Introduction to Corporate Finance in 2021.
