Paola Castellani

Paola Castellani is the Chief Medical Officer & Head of R&D at Zambon. Prior to their current role, Paola spent over 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry in a variety of leadership roles.

Paola started their career at Pharmacia & Upjohn in 1989 as the Global Clinical Program Head. Paola then spent 11 years at AstraZeneca, serving as the Medical Director & Market Access Head from 1996 to 2007. Paola then spent 4 years as the Medical Director & Market Access Head at Novartis Italia before moving to their role as Head of Clinical Development, Medicall Affairs and Patient Advocacy, Region Europe at Novartis Pharma from 2011 to 2017. In their current role at Zambon, Paola is responsible for leading the company's clinical development and research initiatives.

Paola Castellani was educated at the University of Milan, where they received their medical degree. Paola then pursued a fellowship in infectious diseases at the same school.
