Molly Stern

Molly Stern has a significant amount of experience in the publishing industry. Molly currently serves as the CEO and Founder of Zando, a role they took on in October 2020. Prior to this, they worked at Penguin Random House from August 2010 to December 2018, where they held the position of SVP, Publisher for Crown, Hogarth & SJP for Hogarth. During their time at Penguin Random House, they were personally chosen by Michelle Obama to be their editor and was responsible for expanding and developing the non-fiction division.

Before their time at Penguin Random House, Molly worked at Viking Penguin as the Editorial Director of Fiction from an unspecified date to 2010. In this role, they managed a team of fiction editors, curated Viking's fiction list, and published more than 30 books per year. Prior to joining Viking Penguin, Molly held the position of Executive Editor at Viking from an unspecified date to 2005. In this role, they acquired and published books by notable authors such as David Benioff, Geraldine Brooks, Lev Grossman, and Susan Choi.

Molly Stern attended Smith College from 1990 to 1994, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters.
