Herbert then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Centro Universitário Newton Paiva, which they completed from 1987 to 1991. In 1994 and 1995, they attended Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais to study Finance and Economics, but did not finish the program.

In 1998, Herbert pursued further education by completing a Post-Graduate program in Marketing at FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas. During the same year, they also briefly attended Ohio University to study Business International Affairs. Moving forward, Herbert obtained an MBA degree from BSP - Business School São Paulo, specializing in Executive MBA - Management, from 2006 to 2008.

Continuing their academic development, Herbert pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General, from Fundação Dom Cabral, completing it from 2014 to 2015. Herbert then further advanced their studies by earning a Master's Degree in Mestrado em Administração - Estratégia e Inovação from Fundação Dom Cabral, which they obtained from 2016 to 2019.

In terms of additional certifications, Herbert Viana Andrade acquired a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (ICYB) from Grupo Werkema in October 2012.
