Lucas Morton is a Senior Scientist at Zap Energy, with extensive experience in the field of fusion research. Previously, Morton served as a Scientist at TAE Technologies, Inc., where development of the fast ion D-alpha Doppler spectroscopy instrument for the C-2W fusion device took place. Prior roles include Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on spectroscopic diagnostics for turbulence in fusion reactor prototypes, and at Oak Ridge Associated Universities, researching neoclassical tearing instability in low-aspect-ratio tokamaks. Morton holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BA in Physics and Mathematics from Carson-Newman University.
