Max Radin

Lead Quantum Software Engineer at Zapata Computing

Max Radin has a diverse background in quantum computing, computational chemistry, and material science. Max worked as a Lead Quantum Software Engineer at Zapata Computing, where they developed the prototype for Orquestra, a workflow management system for quantum computing, and implemented near-term quantum algorithms for chemistry and materials science. Prior to that, they owned their own company, Radin Computing. Max also worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar at UC Santa Barbara, conducting research on Li-ion battery materials and mentoring a PhD student. As a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, they developed models and tools for analyzing electronic structure calculations and published multiple articles. Additionally, they interned at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in the field of computational chemistry and material science.

Max Radin obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from UC Irvine in 2009. Max later pursued a PhD in Physics at the University of Michigan from 2009 to 2014. Prior to their undergraduate studies, Max attended Homestead High School between 2001 and 2005. Max also has additional certifications in User Research and Design, Introduction to UI Design, and Data Visualization and Communication with Tableau obtained through Coursera.
