Carola Wenander

Senior Principal Scientist at Zealand

Carola Wenander has extensive work experience in the field of pharmacology. Carola began their career as a PhD student at Intercell AG, where they gained their first industry experience. Following their PhD, they worked as a post-doc at the Medical University of Vienna and then at DKFZ. In 2007, they joined Novo Nordisk as a Senior Research Scientist, specializing in pharmacology and overseeing in vivo models and biologics testing. Carola later transitioned to the role of Specialist in Pharmacology and served as the Pharmacology coordinator for early projects. In 2017, Carola joined Zealand Pharma as a Principal Scientist and then as a Senior Principal Scientist.

Carola Wenander received their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Physics from Lycée Français de Vienne in 1994. Carola then pursued a Master's degree in Biology, with a specialization in Microbiology, from the University of Vienna from 1994 to 2001. Following that, they obtained their Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Vienna, Intercell AG, from 2001 to 2003. In 2017, they briefly attended Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned.
