Octav Caldararu

Octav Caldararu is a Senior Scientist at Zealand Pharma since February 2021, with a strong background in computational chemistry and machine learning. Prior experience includes roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher at DTU Chemistry, focusing on protein stability, and as a PhD Student at Lund University, where Octav combined computational and crystallographic techniques to enhance protein structure. Early experience as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Biochemistry of the Romanian Academy involved homology modeling of plant-resistance proteins. Octav holds a PhD in Theoretical Chemistry from Lund University, a Master’s degree in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Bucharest, and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the same institution.
