Derek Geeskie has a diverse work experience in various fields. Derek started their career in 1991 with the USAF, where they served as an Operations Crew Member and Staff Officer until 1998. After that, they worked at the 1st Space Launch Squadron as an Air Force Launch Controller, Director, and Executive Officer from 1998 to 2002. Derek then joined HQ USAF as the Chief of the Treaties and Agreements Branch from 2002 to 2006. From 2006 to 2010, Derek worked at Air Force Space Command, serving as the Chief of the Mission Operations Plans Branch and later as the Chief of the Foreign Disclosure Branch. Derek then joined NORAD & US Northern Command as the Chief of the Integrated Tactical Warning & Attack Assessment Branch from 2010 to 2013. In 2013, Derek moved to the Air Force Technical Applications Center, where they served as the Chief of the Atmosphere and Space Operations Division until 2015. Since 2016, they have been working at Zel Technologies LLC, first as a Program Manager and currently as the Director of Scientific and Technical Programs. In this role, they are responsible for the direction, leadership, and management of assigned Scientific and Technical operations.
Derek Geeskie received a Master's Degree in Military Operational Art and Science (Leadership and Joint Operations) from the USAF Air Command and Staff College in 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in Aeronautical Science - Aerospace from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University between 1992 and 1994. Derek attended Indiana University Indianapolis from 1987 to 1991, without obtaining a degree. Additionally, they pursued Systems Analysis, Design, and Programming at Eastern Florida State College, although specific dates are not provided.
