Luise Weigand has worked in a variety of roles in the research field since 2002. Luise began as a student in the group of PD. Dr. Jeroen Buters at Zentrum Allergie und Umwelt M\u00fcnchen, where they worked in toxicology. Luise then moved to George Washington University as a student in 2005. In 2006, they were a student, Master student and PhD student at HelmholtzZentrum M\u00fcnchen, where they worked in virology, Adoptive T cell therapy in breast cancer and their PhD Thesis in the group of Prof. Dr. med Angela Krackhardt. From 2012 to 2018, they worked at Immunocore as a Program Lead, Leader Portfolio Management/Group leader, Team Leader/Research Manager, Team leader, and Senior Scientist. During this time, they were responsible for hands-on experimental work in the lab, leadership of T cell cloning group and of cell biology group, and project management and initiation of innovative projects. From 2018 to 2021, they worked at Autolus Ltd. as an Associate Director, Translational Medicine and Project Manager. Currently, they are the Head of Research at Zelluna Immunotherapy.
Luise Weigand has a varied educational background beginning with their 1989 graduation from Lycée Français Jean Renoir with a Baccalauréat général ES (économique et social). From 2001-2002, they studied Molecular Biology at the University of Vienna. Luise then returned to the Technical University of Munich, where they completed a Bachelor/Master of Science in Molecular Biotechnology in 2007. Finally, they earned their Dr. rer. nat in Immunology from the Technical University of Munich in 2011.
