Kathleen Burns

Kathleen Burns has a diverse range of work experience, with their most recent position being the Director of HR Operations at Zenas BioPharma since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Deciphera Pharmaceuticals, where they held various roles including Associate Director, Total Rewards and HRIS from July 2021 to December 2021, Senior Manager, Total Rewards and HRIS from January 2020 to July 2021, and Manager, Total Rewards and HRIS from March 2019 to December 2019.

Before joining Deciphera Pharmaceuticals, Kathleen worked at Momenta Pharmaceuticals as a Senior HRIS, Benefits, and Compensation Analyst from January 2018 to March 2019, and as an HRIS, Benefits, and Compensation Analyst from February 2016 to December 2017.

Prior to that, they worked at precisioneffect as a Human Resources Generalist, managing HR responsibilities for a business unit of 100+ employees in Boston and California, including employee relations, performance management, compliance, and operations oversight. Kathleen also handled a corporate acquisition and transition.

Earlier in their career, Kathleen worked at Hunt Alternatives as a Human Resources Generalist from November 2011 to January 2015, and at Virtual Computer, Inc as an Office Manager from July 2010 to October 2011, where they handled office management, executive management, HR administration, and provided finance and marketing support for a start-up with 35 employees.

Kathleen Burns completed their education history with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Human Resources Management from Fitchburg State University, from 2010 to 2012. Before that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from UNH Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics, from 2006 to 2010.

In addition to their degrees, Kathleen also holds certifications in the field of Human Resources. Kathleen obtained their Professional in Human Resources certification from the HR Certification Institute in December 2013. Later, in April 2015, they acquired the SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management - Certified Professional) certification from SHRM.
