Maurice Classen currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Advisor at Zencity, providing strategic support to large city/county and law enforcement clients since August 2021. In addition, Maurice is an Associate Consultant at 21CP Solutions and the US Lead Consultant for JOLT. Previously, Maurice held the position of Chief of Staff in the Office of Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot in Chicago, where key responsibilities included managing a 115-person mayoral staff, overseeing a budget of $11 billion, and navigating critical challenges such as a labor strike and global pandemic. Maurice's experience also includes serving as the Director of Strategy for the Chicago Police Department, where the first strategic plan in over a decade was crafted. Earlier roles include Program Officer at the MacArthur Foundation and Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for King County, leading innovative efforts to combat gang violence in Seattle. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in International Politics from Georgetown University.
