Scott M. Schlimmer, CISSP

Scott M. Schlimmer, CISSP has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity and privacy. In 2007, they began their career as a Senior Analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency, where they earned the National Intelligence Award for their work preventing terrorist threats and advised the White House on foreign policy. Scott M. also served as a CIA Representative for the Olympics Counterterrorism Task Force in 2010.

Throughout their career, Scott has held various leadership and advisory roles. Scott M. co-founded CyberSaint Security, a venture-backed cybersecurity SaaS company that gained recognition from Gartner and won an innovation award. Scott M. also served as an Advisor for SOC Prime, where they played a key role in the company's successful exit and provided strategic advice to the CEO, leading to a significant increase in revenue.

In addition, Scott worked as a Senior GRC Consultant at Abacode Cybersecurity & Compliance, where they conducted risk assessments and managed a team of consultants. Scott M. also founded LetoSecurity, a company that offers cybersecurity, risk management, and privacy services to organizations globally.

Currently, Scott is the Founder and Chief Privacy Officer at ZenPrivata, focusing on providing real and simple privacy solutions. Scott M. is also a Best-Selling Author, with their book set to release in 2022.

Throughout their career, Scott has demonstrated expertise in various cybersecurity and risk management frameworks, such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-171, CIS Top 20, and HIPAA. Their work experience highlights their strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and ability to drive growth and success in the cybersecurity industry.

Scott M. Schlimmer, CISSP, holds a Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree in Public Policy from the University of Michigan. Scott M. also earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Honors degree in Political Science from the same university. In addition to their formal education, Scott completed the Emerging Leaders Program at CIA University in 2012 and the Advanced Intelligence Analysis program at the Sherman Kent School from 2010 to 2012.

Scott has obtained several certifications throughout their career. Scott M. is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) accredited by (ISC)² since December 2017. Scott M. also completed the Prompt Engineering for ChatGPT program from Vanderbilt University in May 2023. Furthermore, Scott holds an Applied AI Certificate consisting of six courses from IBM. Scott M. has additional certifications as a CyberAB Registered Practitioner (RP) from The Cyber AB and a Qualys Certified Specialist. Scott has also completed a Regulatory Compliance Certificate, which includes four courses, with one of them focusing on Privacy Law/Data Protection. The institution granting the Regulatory Compliance Certificate is Pennsylvania.
