Brendan McCarthy, PhD

Brendan McCarthy, PhD, has extensive work experience in various scientific and technical roles. Brendan began their career as a Senior Staff Scientist at MediVas LLC, where they synthesized materials for clinical trials and pioneered efforts in attaching drugs to polymers. Brendan then served as the Manager of Polymer Development at MediVas, overseeing synthesis, characterization, and scale-up of monomers and polymers. Brendan later became the Director of Polymer Research at MediVas, contributing to successful licensing deals with Guidant Corp and Boston Scientific Corp. Brendan also worked as the Director of Technical Assessment, assessing the viability of R&D projects and negotiating corporate partnerships.

Additionally, Brendan worked as a Staff Medical Device Engineer at Dexcom, where they built an analytical lab and implemented standardized test methods for material characterization. Brendan also served as a Staff Scientist at Biolinq, developing micro-needle-based sensor arrays for continuous glucose monitoring.
