Kathryn Farrell

Kathryn Farrell is a seasoned professional in governance, compliance, and policy management, currently serving as the Governance and Compliance Manager at Zero Waste Scotland since August 2025. Kathryn also holds a position as a Board Member at the National Mining Museum Scotland Trust since December 2023. Previously, from December 2008 to July 2025, Kathryn was the Data Protection Officer and Compliance Manager at National Galleries of Scotland, where responsibilities included advising on data protection in accordance with GDPR and ensuring compliance with various legislation. Additionally, Kathryn served as the Policy and Performance Manager at the same institution, focusing on data protection and broader compliance issues. Prior roles include the Communities Policy Manager at The Scottish Government in 2008 and Policy Officer at Midlothian Council from 2004 to 2008. Kathryn holds a BA(Hons) in International Business and Modern Languages from the University of Strathclyde.
