Carla Nina has extensive experience in marketing and innovation roles. Carla currently holds the position of Global Head of Marketing - Portfolio & Innovation at Zespri International since January 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Head Global Innovation Marketing at the same company from June 2019 to January 2020. Before joining Zespri International, Carla worked at Flying Fish Lab as a Senior Catalyst from March 2018 to December 2019. Carla also held senior marketing manager positions at Unilever, specifically as Senior Marketing Manager SouthEastAsia - Hellmann's from October 2018 to June 2019, and as Senior Marketing Manager - Southeast Asia and Australasia - Knorr from April 2017 to February 2018. Carla's earlier roles at Unilever include Global Brand Development Manager from August 2011 to April 2015, Marketing Manager Savoury, South East Asia from March 2010 to July 2011, Regional Category Leader: Desserts & Marketing Capability Manager from March 2007 to March 2010, and Regional Category Leader Dressings & Desserts from August 2006 to March 2007. Prior to their time at Unilever, Carla worked as a KM consultant at KMG from May 2003 to July 2006. Carla also held positions at Hay Management Consultants as a Reward Senior Consultant from March 2001 to September 2002, and at HayGroup as a Consultant from June 1998 to February 2001. Carla began their professional career as a Journalist & Business Analyst at Abril/Control Jornal from March 1997 to June 1998.
Carla Nina completed an Executive Programme in Product Management at INSEAD in 2023. In 2016, they participated in the Digital Acceleration Program at an institution called Digital Training Academy. Carla obtained their Graduate degree in Economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa in the years 1993 to 1997.
