Samantha Perez

Samantha Perez is a Senior Scientist at ZielBio, Inc. since February 2022, where responsibilities include preparing protocols and conducting studies in oncology, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory guidelines. Previously, Samantha served as a PhD Candidate at the University of Virginia from August 2016 to November 2021, under the mentorship of Kimberly Kelly, Ph.D. Additionally, participation in the Health Policy Research Scholars program from September 2017 to August 2021 focused on leveraging research to influence health policy, supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Earlier experience includes roles as a Pratt Research Fellow and Undergraduate Research Assistant at Duke University from December 2012 to May 2015, and as a Research Assistant at House Ear Institute Inc. from January 2010 to August 2011. Samantha holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Duke University.
