Shelley Brown

Shelley Brown is an accomplished professional in the fields of venture capital and technology, currently serving as the Head Venture Partner for Environment at Zinc since March 2024. Previously, Shelley worked at bp from January 2020 to September 2023, where roles included Investor in DeepTech Environment and Business Advisor to the Senior Vice President for Launchpad and Ventures, focusing on innovative energy solutions for a net-zero future. Shelley has held various leadership positions in battery technology and alternative powertrains, notably at Johnson Matthey, where significant contributions were made to battery materials and commercial strategy. An academic background includes adjunct roles at The University of Queensland, alongside research projects in electrochemical systems. Shelley holds a Ph.D. in Electrochemical Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and a First-Class Honours Engineering degree from James Cook University.
