Zip Xpress

Zip Xpress is a West Michigan based, privately owned, general commodity and special commodities LTL carrier. Zip Xpress began operations on August 1, 2001, and has worked to service industry customers with top quality service ever since! SHIP BETTER. SMARTER. TOGETHER. Zip Xpress recycles air or empty spaces that our Michigan based vendors are paying for into savings for them and enhancements to Zip Xpress and its employees. The regular practice of shipping partial trailers but paying the full truck load rate is at an epidemic level; which contributes to our products in Michigan becoming far too expensive to maintain competitiveness. (We have many actual job loss examples to share). Zip Xpress provides a “Safe Haven” for customers with special needs that may require specific time sensitive deliveries, protective service from heat or cold, job site and high value product, and expedited shipments that are all protected to provide the needed services and not purchase the entire trailer. Can you imagine two passengers boarding an airplane bound for California, and they are the only two passengers on the plane? In transportation, Michigan vendors will ship two pallets from Michigan to California at full blown expense all by themselves as the only two passengers on that 53’ trailer. Our facility in Holland has 72,000 square feet and 22 dock doors, while employing 108 people with revenues of over 20 million. We are one of the first carriers in the transportation industry to employ our own in house Sustainability Manager, and we maintain relationships with many sustainable business and economic development organizations throughout the State of Michigan. Our vision of sustainability and the one that we are promoting is: Saving money on transportation costs is not enough. We must get this knowledge to the point of sale in order to retain customers, stay competitive and attract new business to the Great State of Michigan.
