Before joining Zipline, Alexis co-founded Connect Education, one of Australia's largest student-powered education startups. The company was acquired by Elevate Education in 2019, and Alexis consulted full-time for the integration in the first quarter of 2020. As CEO, they managed the company's portfolio of products and achieved year-over-year growth despite being bootstrapped.
Prior to Connect Education, Alexis founded an EdTech platform called VCE PE Hub. This platform was widely used by thousands of Victorian students and teachers for VCE Physical Education. It was selected as a featured example from over 300,000 websites hosted by GROU.PS.
Alexis Ituarte began their education at Northcote High School from 2005 to 2010, where they obtained a Victorian Certificate of Education. In 2011, they enrolled at the University of Melbourne and pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics and Psychology, which they completed in 2014. Additionally, in 2013, Alexis participated in an exchange program at Carnegie Mellon University.
