Lauren Lacey's work experience includes being the Lead Mechanical Engineer at Zipline since May 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Sandia National Laboratories starting in May 2012, where they held various roles including Project Lead and Principal R&D Mechanical Engineer, Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer and Component Lead, and R&D Mechanical Engineer and Product Engineer. In 2019, they founded LoonyLearn and served as its Founder. From 2017 to 2018, they were the Vice President of Content at Kids Know It Network. Lauren also had internships at Honeywell FM&T in 2011 as a Mechanical Engineering Intern, and at Burns & McDonnell from 2009 to 2010 as an Engineering Intern.

Lauren Lacey completed their education with a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering/Control Systems from the Georgia Institute of Technology, graduating in 2014. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Kansas, completing their undergraduate studies in 2012. In addition to their formal education, Lauren also obtained several certifications, including Fagan Inspection Trained in October 2015, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt in February 2015, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing Trained in July 2012, and Fundamentals of Engineering Exam in April 2011.
