Yoshifumi Suzuki

Senior Simulation Software Engineer at Zipline

Yoshifumi Suzuki has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Yoshifumi began their career as a Visiting Researcher at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in 2004, where they conducted analytical and numerical investigations on rarefied gas flow applications. During this time, they collaborated with researchers and presented their findings at conferences. In 2008, Suzuki joined Desktop Aeronautics, Inc, where they worked as a Research Scientist. Here, they conducted consulting projects on aerodynamic analyses and design optimizations, developed numerical algorithms and software tools, and provided customer support services. Suzuki then moved to Altair in 2012, where they held various roles including Senior CFD Development Engineer and Solver Development Manager. In these positions, they implemented new capabilities and enhanced functionalities of Altair's CFD software, conducted QA analyses, and maintained and improved build systems. Yoshifumi also researched and developed novel algorithms for commercial CFD software. Suzuki's most recent work experience is as a Senior Simulation Software Engineer at Zipline, starting in 2021.

Yoshifumi Suzuki holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Aerospace Engineering and Scientific Computing from the University of Michigan. Yoshifumi also obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) degree in Aerospace Engineering from the same institution. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Nagoya University.

In addition to their formal education, Yoshifumi Suzuki has obtained several certifications. Yoshifumi is a certified Machine Learning Engineer from FourthBrain, having completed the certification in February 2022. Yoshifumi has also completed the Computational Machine Learning for Scientists and Engineers certification from ECE Continuum in November 2021. In January 2020, they obtained the Live Training (PDH) certification in machine learning and deep learning bootcamp from IEEE. Furthermore, they hold the certification in Fundamentals of Engineering from the Oregon State Board of Examiners for Engineering & Land Surveying, which they obtained in August 2000.
