Damien Shulock has been working in the research and development field since 1995. Damien began their career at Heart Technology, Inc. as a Manufacturing Engineer, where they were responsible for process documentation, tool design, line expansion, labeling and packaging operations. In 1998, they moved to A-Med Systems as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, where they designed a catheter blood pump for LV support of patients in emergency conditions, weaning from VADs, and high-risk PTCA, and supervised up to 5 manufacturing technicians and assemblers to build this device. In 2005, they joined Aspire Medical as a Senior R&D Engineer, where they contributed design improvements to an implantable device which provides relief for Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and designed the next-generation system for accessing the surgical site and implanting the device deep into tongue muscle. In 2008, they became the R&D Engineering Manager and Senior Project Engineer at CoAlign Innovations (formerly Innvotec Surgical), where they researched and developed a new type of replacement disc for spinal fusion surgery. In 2014, they moved to Stryker as an R&D Engineering Manager, and then in 2015, they became the Director of Engineering at PONTiS Orthopaedics, where they enhanced the existing product lines with new features and refined instruments, and researched and designed bone-to-bone and ligament-to-bone anchor systems. In 2017, they joined Microsfere Pte. Ltd. as the VP of Product Engineering, where they developed a wearable, health-conscious, innovative IoT device, and performed early R&D, and ongoing testing, prototyping, and CAD work. Most recently, in 2019, they joined ZKR Ortho as the VP of Research & Development.
Damien Shulock attended Dartmouth College from 1990 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Engineering. Damien also attended Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth from 1994 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
