Anwar Jiwani

SVP, Operations & Chief Information Officer at Zones

Anwar Jiwani has a diverse and extensive work experience. Anwar started their career in 1976 at Royal Bank of Canada, where they held various roles in mainframe and networking positions until 1996. During this time, they were responsible for providing support and maintenance for the bank's network operating systems. From 1993 to 1996, they served as a Senior Group Manager in the Client Server Group.

In 1997, they joined Royal Bank of Canada again as a Senior Group Manager, where they were responsible for architecting, installing, and managing the infrastructure technology in the Call Centers. Anwar handled four locations with a total of 400-600 agents and approximately 3 million calls per month, with a high percentage being addressed through Interactive Voice Response.

In 1999, Anwar joined Zones, Inc as the VP of Information Technology, where they reengineered the IT group organization and key applications. Anwar later became the SVP & CIO, playing a crucial role in aligning IT strategy with corporate initiatives, such as order fulfillment, sales, marketing, logistics, and supply chain management. As part of the senior executive team, they also participated in overall company strategies related to customer acquisition, product category mix, marketing programs, and sales goals.

In 2011, Anwar was promoted to the position of SVP, Operations & Chief Information Officer at Zones, Inc, where they continue to contribute to the company's success.

Anwar Jiwani studied Computer Science at Simon Fraser University.
