David J Johnston

David J Johnston is a Conservation Enterprise Specialist at the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) since February 2021, focusing on sustainable business and finance to promote biodiversity conservation through private sector collaboration. As a Board Member of Junglekeepers since April 2017, Johnston leads strategies to empower communities in the Las Piedras watershed of Peru. In addition, Johnston serves as a Strategic Consultant for WorkingAbroad, enhancing the sustainability of voluntourism programs for grassroots organizations. Previously, as Co-Founder and Director of the Las Piedras Amazon Center (LPAC) from May 2015 to December 2019, Johnston developed a watershed-level conservation project that emphasized sustainable practices. Johnston also held the position of Conservation Project Manager at Wild Forests & Fauna from 2012 to 2019.
