Ellie Dyer is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Zoological Society of London, focusing on global patterns in the distribution and impacts of alien species since February 2016. Previously, Ellie served as a PhD Candidate in Invasion Biology at ZSL and University College London from September 2012 to November 2015, where the research centered on the distribution and richness of alien bird species. Ellie co-created the Global Avian Invasions Atlas (GAVIA) Project, contributing to a notable database of over 28,000 records for more than 960 introduced bird species. Earlier roles at ZSL include serving as Project Coordinator from July 2010 to September 2012, where Ellie managed the Global Avian Invasions Atlas Project, and as a Research Assistant investigating the extinction risk of various aquatic species for the IUCN Red List. Ellie holds a Master of Science degree in Zoo Conservation Biology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, both from the University of Plymouth.
