Dr. Jia Yan Du has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries. Dr. Jia Yan started their career as a Senior Consultant at Siemens Management Consulting from 2008 to 2013. Dr. Jia Yan later joined SWAROVSKI as the Head of Strategic Development Operations, where they were responsible for defining and implementing operational strategies from 2014 to 2017. During this period, they also served as a Guest Lecturer at Technische Universität München from April 2017 to October 2017. Dr. Jia Yan then worked as a Project Manager Operations for Ecommerce Launch in China on a freelance basis at BIRKENSTOCK DIGITAL GMBH from November 2017 to May 2018. Their most recent roles include Executive Assistant to the COO and Head of Procurement & Inventory Management at zooplus from March 2020 to January 2022 and August 2021 to March 2023, respectively. Currently, they hold the position of Director Inbound Logistics at zooplus, where they are responsible for the supply chain management of inbound area.

Dr. Jia Yan Du completed a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Technical University of Munich from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Dipl.-Kffr. degree in Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering from the same university between 2004 and 2008. In 2006, they also spent a semester as an exchange student at City, University of London, studying at Cass Business School. Additionally, in 2005, they were an exchange student at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, studying at the School of Engineering.
