Gardar Johannesson

Staff Data Scientist - Autonomy Software at Zoox

Gardar Johannesson is a highly experienced data scientist currently serving as a Staff Data Scientist in Autonomy Software at Zoox since October 2024. From March 2015, Gardar has been a Data Science Manager at The Climate Corporation, leading a team to develop advanced deep learning and statistical models for crop yield prediction, focusing on the integration of diverse data sources. Prior to this, Gardar held various roles at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, including Staff Scientist and Applied Statistician, where significant contributions were made in Bayesian methods for seismic event location. Educationally, Gardar obtained a PhD in Statistics from The Ohio State University and a BS in Mathematics from Háskóli Íslands.
