Jessica Babcock

Jessica Babcock has a diverse range of work experience in the field of robotics and engineering. Jessica is currently working as a Robotics Engineer at Zordi since 2022. Prior to that, they were a Formula Electric FSAE Project Manager at SAE International from May 2021 to June 2022, where they led a team of 21 engineering students in designing and building a student-built racecar.

Jessica also worked as a Robotics Software Intern at IAM Robotics from June 2021 to August 2021, where they implemented new functionality using C++ for the Swift Robot team. Additionally, Jessica was a Test Engineering Intern at JLS Automation from May 2020 to January 2021, where they created robot tests, set up the Codex Vision system, and calibrated Delta Robots.

In 2019, they interned as a Test Engineering Intern at BAE Systems, where they developed test fixtures and created manufacturing drawings. Jessica also worked on documentation for Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) software.

Before their internships, Jessica gained experience as a Summer Camp Counselor at York Country Day School in 2018. Jessica also served as a Mechanical Build & Design team leader and pit crew member for FIRST Robotics Team: TechFire 225 from October 2016 to August 2018. During this time, they played a key role in robot functionality, redesigns, and mentorship.

In 2017, they interned as a Special Project Intern at Try Tek Machine Works Inc, where they used Inventor to CAD and prototype an Industrial Crawler/Carrier and managed the project timeline and team communication.

Overall, Jessica has demonstrated their expertise in robotics, engineering, project management, and team leadership through their diverse work experiences.

Jessica Babcock obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where they studied from 2018 to 2022. Jessica also obtained a Master's degree in Robotics Engineering from the same institution, where they studied from 2020 to 2022. In addition to their degrees, Jessica has a certification as a Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate from Dassault Systèmes, which they obtained in October 2018.
