Priyal Walpita

Priyal Walpita has held a variety of roles in the technology industry since 2006. From 2006-2007, they were a Lecturer at APIIT. From 2007-2008, they were a Software Engineer at IFS R&D International, where they developed a beta version of .Net IFS applications Customer Order module for a few clients. Priyal also had a foreign assignment in Asker, Norway for deployment and user training. From 2008-2014, they worked at Zone24x7, where they held the roles of Associate Technical Project Manager, Lead Software Engineer, and Software Engineer. During this time, they managed a team of developers, used Agile Project development methodology with JIRA and Rally, and had foreign assignments in California and Vancouver, Canada. From 2014-2017, they worked at Virtusa as a Senior Consultant and Architect. Here, they designed and developed change requests to a telecommunications product and used Oracle and .Net technologies. From 2017-2018, they were a Principal Architect at DP Technologies (Pvt) Ltd, where they designed and Architected highly classified Military-grade security solutions. From 2018-2019, they were a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Colombo School of Computing. Currently, they are the Chief Technology Officer at ZorroSign, Inc., where they are responsible for the eSignature platform with Blockchain security, automation, AI ML, and 4n6 (Forensics) Token technology.

Priyal Walpita has an extensive educational background. Priyal obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in 2004, majoring in Physical Sciences. Priyal then went on to obtain a BSc (Hons) from Staffordshire University in 2005, majoring in Computing. In 2015, they obtained a Master of Science in Information Security (MIS) from the University of Colombo, majoring in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance. In 2019, they obtained a Certification in Machine Learning from Stanford University. Additionally, they have obtained numerous certifications from Coursera, Meta, The University of Sydney Business School, Duke University, The State University of New York, and the University of Alberta.
