Eric Simonson

Eric Simonson has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Eric is currently working as the Manager of Scientific Programs at Zucara Therapeutics Inc. since April 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Scientist at adMare BioInnovations from June 2019 to March 2020.

From 2014 to 2019, Eric held multiple roles at CDRD, including Scientist, Associate Scientist, and Senior Technician in Analytical and Pre Formulation. In these roles, they were responsible for project management, functional responsibility for the bioanalytical unit, and analytical testing of pharmaceutical products.

Before CDRD, Eric worked as a Research and Development Chemist at Viva Pharmaceutical Inc. from October 2012 to January 2014. In this position, they developed extraction and characterization procedures for pharmacologically active components of herbs and performed specialized chemical and physical tests for pharmaceutical/nutraceutical product development.

Eric also has experience as a Consultant at Zalicus Pharmaceuticals Ltd. from March 2012 to June 2012 and as a Laboratory Manager in Analytical Chemistry at Zalicus Incorporated from October 2007 to February 2012. In these roles, they led a team of analysts, managed the analytical lab, and conducted various analytical testing and purification activities.

Prior to Zalicus, Eric worked as a Research Associate in Analytical Chemistry at Neuromed from February 2005 to October 2007 and as a Research Associate in Analytical Development at Inex Pharmaceuticals from June 2002 to December 2004. In these positions, they were involved in analytical method development, validation, and transfer, technical report writing, and the characterization of liposomal drug products.

Eric Simonson obtained a Certificate in Project Management from UBC Sauder School of Business from 2017 to 2019. Eric also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Victoria, which they completed from 1997 to 2002. In addition to their educational qualifications, Eric Simonson has obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification from the Project Management Institute in February 2018.
