Adam Smedresman

Adam Smedresman has an extensive work experience in engineering. In 2022, they held the role of Vice President of Product Development at Zulu Pods, Inc. Prior to this, they were an Aerospace Engineering Consultant in 2021. In 2021, they also held the role of Senior Project Design Engineer at Amphenol RF, where they developed company-wide structural analysis methods and capabilities, completed comprehensive interconnect product development projects as engineering lead responsible for a large portion of the US market, and created CAD models and drawings. From 2012 to 2021, they held multiple roles at Pratt & Whitney, including Staff (Principal) Structures Engineer, MSEN, Senior Structures Engineer, Mechanical Systems, and Structures Engineer, Mechanical Systems. From 2008 to 2011, they were the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer at IOSiX, LLC, where they led the design and production of enclosures for numerous data acquisition and automotive electronics devices. From 2011 to 2006, they held multiple roles at the University of Michigan, including Graduate Student Instructor, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Research Assistant, Computational Thermo-Fluids Group, and Research Assistant, Compliant Systems Design Lab. In 2009, they held the role of Co-op, Powertrain Department at Toyota, where they conducted finite element analysis of automotive powertrain components.

Adam Smedresman attended the University of Michigan from 2004 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Adam then returned to the University of Michigan from 2010 to 2012, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering.
