Matt Knapp

Founder at Zunum Aero

Matt Knapp has had a long and varied career in the aviation industry. Starting in 1997, they were Director of Aero Design at Pioneer Rocketplane. Matt then moved on to Senior Aerodynamics Engineer at Analytical Methods, Inc. in 1999. In 2003, they took on two roles at Aviation Technology Group, Lead Aircraft Designer for the Javelin VLJ and Director of Flight Sciences. In 2007, they worked as a Globetrekker for Independent Travel. In 2008, they became Chief Aerodynamicist at TLG Aerospace. Finally, in 2013 they founded Zunum Aero, a company that builds commercial hybrid-to-electric aircraft.

Matt Knapp received a Bachelor of Science (S.B.) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1995. Matt then went on to receive a Master of Science (M.S.) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the same institution in 1996. Prior to that, they attended NYA.
