Robert Hartson

Robert Hartson currently serves as the Regional Tax Director for the APAC region and Head of Tax for Australia and New Zealand at Zurich Insurance, a role assumed in September 2023. Prior to this position, Robert held various leadership roles at Macquarie Group from January 2015 to September 2023, including Division Director and Global Head of Tax Reporting. Within Macquarie, Robert also served as Associate Director, overseeing ANZ Tax Reporting and Group Tax Accounting. Previous experience includes the role of Group Taxation Manager at Leighton Holdings Limited from February 2006 to January 2015, and International Tax Manager at ANZ between September 2000 and January 2006. Robert began a career in tax at Ernst & Young, where the position of Senior Taxation Manager was held from January 1992 to September 2000. Robert holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Tax from The University of Auckland, completed in 1987.
