Ryo Toriumi

Ryo Toriumi is a seasoned actuary currently serving as Senior Life Actuary for Zurich Insurance in the APAC region since March 2023. In this role, Ryo is responsible for IFRS17 closing and group reporting activities, planning and performance management, and managing product profitability. Prior to this, Ryo led the IFRS Actuarial Department at Zurich Life Insurance Japan Company Ltd, overseeing a successful transition from IFRS4 to IFRS17 and establishing ongoing reporting processes. Ryo's extensive experience includes positions at PwC Japan, where Ryo conducted audits and advisory work, and at Nippon Life Insurance, focused on product development. Ryo holds a Master of Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering from Keio University.
