Thomas Clever's work experience begins in 1996, when they worked as an HR Manager at R+V Versicherung AG. Thomas then moved on to Lufthansa Technik AG in 2001, where they worked as an International HR Business Partner until 2009. After that, they joined Deutsche Telekom as the Head of Global Assignment Management, where they were responsible for various tasks including governance, cost center management, policy introduction, and process optimization. In 2013, they became the Managing Director at DEA Global Ltd - Wintershall Dea Group until 2017. From 2018 to 2020, they worked as the Director at DEM Mexico Alemania - Wintershall Dea Group. Thomas then joined Wintershall Dea as the HR Director for international HR from 2011 to 2020. Most recently, they served as the Vice President of Global HR and Communication at Mabanaft from 2020 to 2023. Since June 2023, they have been working as the Senior Vice President of People, Finance & IT at ZVEI e. V.

Thomas Clever obtained their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in HR Management and Psychology from Gerhard-Mercator-University in Duisburg, Germany, between 1990 and 1996.
