Angele De Silva

Angele De Silva has worked in a variety of roles since 2015. Angele began their career as a Pharmacy Technician at CVS/pharmacy in 2015. In 2016, they worked as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at UC Irvine, where they validated differential gene expression of several ER and mitochondrial genes in Kcne2 -/- mice to investigate indicators of pancreatic \ua7b5-cell failure via qPCR. From 2017-2018, they worked as a Physiology & Biophysics Laboratory Assistant at the University of California, Irvine, where they executed molecular techniques such as site-directed mutagenesis, bacterial transformation, plasmid purification, PCR, and gel electrophoresis. From 2018-2020, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at California State University-Long Beach, where they studied the correlation between target recognition and immune protein synthesis/secretion by human macrophages to further characterize the activation of innate immune responses. Most recently, they have been a Research Associate at Zymo Research Corp since 2020.

Angele De Silva received their Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from UC Irvine in 2017. Angele then went on to pursue their Master of Science in Microbiology at California State University, Long Beach, which they completed in 2020.
