Jonah Nechacov

Jonah Nechacov has been working in various roles since 2016. Jonah is currently a Research Specialist at Zymo Research Corp, a position they have held since 2021. Prior to that, they were a Technical Sales Specialist at Biomatik Corporation from 2020. In 2020, they also held the role of High School Math/Science Teacher at Waterloo Independent Secondary School. From 2016 to 2020, they were a Doctoral Student at Wilfrid Laurier University, where they were the project leader for over 15 nationally funded projects related to the metabolism of the pathogen Treponema denticola. Jonah also determined the metabolic function of three main bacterial enzymes with implications to the progression of periodontitis. In addition, they were a Teaching Assistant, assisting laboratory coordinators in chemistry and biochemistry laboratory courses over 12 week terms, and a Laboratory Assistant, preparing various biological samples originating for human oral pathogens for biophysical characterization.

Jonah Nechacov received their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2016. Jonah then continued their studies at Wilfrid Laurier University and obtained their Master of Science (MS) in Chemistry and Biochemistry in 2019.
