Wei Guo has over twenty-five years of experience in the field of bioinformatics. Wei began their career in 1993 as a Researcher and Lecturer of Microbiology at Beijing Medical University. In 2003, they moved on to become a Bioinformatics Scientist at Viagen. From 2008 to 2012, they were the Director of Bioinformatics Services and Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Ambry Genetics. Finally, from 2012 to the present, they have been a Sr Bioinformatics Scientist at Zymo Research Corp, where they are responsible for developing and providing services through bioinformatics algorithms and tools, utilizing genetic, epigenetic and genomic high-throughput data.
Wei Guo completed a Postdoc at Iowa State University from 2001 to 2003 in the field of Bioinformatics. Prior to that, they obtained a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Iowa from 1995 to 2001. Wei also earned an MS in Microbiology from Beijing Medical University from 1990 to 1993, and a BS in Zoology from Sichuan University, China from 1986 to 1990.
