Okta has picked ex-Google leader Sagnik Nandy to serve on its executive management team as its new President of Technology and CTO.
His new roles place him at the head of the independent identity management platform’s engineering and business technology teams. He will also lead the strategic planning of product development activities.
CEO Todd McKinnon said that “As an engineer at heart and by trade, I have a special appreciation for Sagnik’s impressive background and depth across enterprise software development, cloud infrastructure, and business-critical systems.”
McKinnon went on to say that Nandy is the right leader to drive Okta’s next phase of innovation, not only due to his technical expertise but also because of his deep understanding of the importance of people and culture.
Before Okta, Nandy spent 15 years at Google, where he led engineering efforts in the tech giant’s core advertising business as a VP of Engineering. He also helped build Google's measurement and analytics offerings and held a variety of other senior leadership roles.
“Okta occupies the critical position as the gateway to digitization for companies large and small across the globe, and the opportunity this creates is tremendous.” Nandy stated. “I’m excited to build on Okta’s already strong foundation and lead the talented team responsible for the future of development and innovation at the company.”
In the last year Okta has revamped and expanded its c-suite as it enters a new phase of growth, adding a new CFO, Chief Digital Officer, and Chief Revenue Officer. Earlier this year, the identity and access management company also brought on a Head of Dynamic Work to help lead its 2-year plan to transition to become a remote-first company.
