Enterprise software titan Salesforce has promoted Gavin Patterson as its new President and Chief Revenue Officer. Patterson serves as the President and CEO of Salesforce International and will transition to his new role on August 1.

In a separate announcement, Salesforce also appointed Denis Terrien as EVP and CEO of Southern Europe and Stefan Hoechbauer as EVP and CEO of DACH, which covers Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Terrien and Hoechbauer will both report to Patterson.

As President and Chief Revenue Officer, Patterson will lead Salesforce’s global sales organization and report to CEO Marc Benioff.

Patterson initially joined Salesforce in 2019 as Chair of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Salesforce's fastest-growing region and was promoted to President and CEO of Salesforce International earlier this year. Prior to joining Salesforce, Patterson spent 15 years at British telecommunications company BT Group, including a stint as company’s CEO from 2013 to 2019. Patterson has also held senior positions at Virgin Media and Proctor & Gamble.

In a press release, Patterson said, "In the months ahead, we will remain focused on helping our customers recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, deploying our technology and enabling them to re-open their businesses and communities safely. Our world-class sales organization is built for moments like this, being a trusted advisor able to deliver the full power of Salesforce to help make our customers successful."

Benioff stated, "Gavin's global experience, network, and public company CEO experience uniquely position him for this critical leadership position at Salesforce."

Salesforce’s latest hires will help the company continue to grow as it adapts its business to new market demands created by the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier this month, the company launched a new set of tools that can help organizations reopen workplaces while maintaining employee safety, called Work.com.
