Steve Rafferty Named Senior Vice President of Development for Subway Restaurants

Subway restaurants has appointed Steve Rafferty as the Senior Vice President of Development for North America. He will be overseeing business development strategy, leading growth initiatives for new and existing restaurants.

An industry veteran with over thirty years of experience, Rafferty has previously led franchise business development for Yum Brands, Burger King and PepsiCo. Most recently, Rafferty served as the Senior Director of U.S. Business Development at Dunkin Brands.

"Steve has the deep experience to successfully lead teams to achieve new franchise recruitment, unit growth, and new market entry goals. His wealth of knowledge, along with his focus on franchisee profitability, make him an ideal leader for Team Subway," Trevor Haynes, President, Subway, North America said in a press release.

The Subway restaurant chain has seen a decline in sales as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The company saw closures of over 2400 franchises in 2020, shrinking the company by 12%.
