Plant-based meat giant Beyond Meat has named three new leaders to its c-suite as it enters a new phase of growth. These new hires are Amazon's Phil Hardin, who takes on the CFO role in July 2021; JAFRA Cosmetics International’s Margaret “Jackie” Trask, who is now Beyond Meat’s Chief People Officer; and Deanna Jurgens, who joins from skincare company Rodan & Fields to replace Charles Muth as Chief Growth Officer upon his retirement on June 4.

In a press release, CEO Ethan Brown highlighted each of the new hires’ past roles and successes and added that the newcomers will “help drive the business toward our goal of being tomorrow's global protein company."

Before Beyond Meat, Hardin had served in a myriad of finance and investor relations roles over 15 years at Amazon, culminating in his most recent position as VP of Finance for Amazon Advertising. In his statement, Brown praised Hardin’s long tenure at Amazon and his record of strategic investing for outsized future growth.

Brown also recognized incoming growth chief Deanna Jurgens’ “highly successful customer-focused leadership” while she was at PepsiCo. Prior to her role as Chief Global Sales Officer at Rodan & Fields, Jurgens spent 15 years at PepsiCo and left the company as the VP in charge of Frito-Lay’s largest operating business.

Trask was complimented for her “impressive track record of building teams and raising the bar at JAFRA,” a company that she joined 14 years ago. While at JFRA, Trask most recently served as SVP of Worldwide Human Resources and led HR for more than 2,200 employees in 11 countries.

Beyond Meat is gearing up for its next phase of growth following its blockbuster IPO in May 2019. In 2020 the company brought in $406.8 million in revenue, up almost 37% compared to 2019 despite weakened foodservice demand due to COVID-19.

As of March 2021, Beyond Meat had products available at approximately 118,000 retail and foodservice outlets in over 80 countries worldwide.
